Major Breaking: Set-Back As South Carolina football Key Man Exit The Team

As the NFL season moves into its fourth weekend, former South Carolina football standout Ahmarean Brown has secured a new opportunity with the Buffalo Bills. The team announced on Thursday that they have signed the talented wide receiver, who will initially join the practice squad. Brown’s remarkable speed and versatility could pave the way for him to earn a spot on the 53-man roster, particularly in special teams roles.

Brown’s journey to the Bills follows an unexpected release from the Cleveland Browns after the preseason. Despite showing promise as an undrafted free agent, he was cut despite a solid performance. While his time on the field as a receiver was limited, his contributions in special teams during training camp and preseason practices caught the attention of many observers in Cleveland.

In Buffalo, Brown fills the practice squad position once held by fellow Gamecock alum Damiere Byrd. Both players are known for their quickness and ability to stretch the field, making them valuable assets for their respective teams. With a lack of established talent at the wide receiver position, Brown has the chance to carve out a significant role, particularly alongside the Bills’ established return specialist, Brandon Codrington.

During his tenure at South Carolina, Brown battled through a series of minor injuries but still managed to showcase his skills. He finished his college career with 60 receptions for 557 yards and two touchdowns over three seasons. His contributions were not limited to receiving; he also made a name for himself as a crucial special teams player, excelling in both punt returns and coverage.

As he embarks on this new chapter with the Bills, Ahmarean Brown aims to leverage his speed and agility to make an impact in the NFL. With the right opportunities, he has the potential to not only solidify his spot on the roster but also become a key contributor for the team as they pursue their goals this season.
