The Baltimore Ravens faced significant changes in their offensive line this offseason, losing starting guards Kevin Zeitler and John Simpson, along with right tackle Morgan Moses, who was traded to the New York Jets.
To address these gaps, the Ravens selected tackle Roger Rosengarten from the University of Washington with their second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, hoping he would develop into a key player.
Rosengarten made his debut as a starter against the Buffalo Bills and showed great promise, potentially shifting the narrative around the Moses trade. Initially, there were concerns about the offensive line’s effectiveness without Moses, who had been a reliable presence.
However, Rosengarten, at just 22 and on a rookie deal, played every snap and earned the Ravens’ highest offensive line grade of 75.9, including a crucial block on a touchdown play.
While his overall grade of 67.6 isn’t top-tier, it’s significantly better than Moses’ 51.2, especially now that Moses is sidelined with an MCL sprain.
Rosengarten’s performance is beginning to suggest that the Ravens may have made a smart move in trading Moses, as he looks poised to be a cornerstone of their offensive line for years to come. With Rosengarten stepping up, concerns about the offensive line are starting to fade.
