TEAM NEWS: Titans Coach Brian Callahan Gives Update On Unexpected Return Of Key Man From Injury

Titans quarterback Will Levis is showing signs of improvement, according to coach Brian Callahan’s update on Monday. This comes after the team returned from their bye week, shedding light on Levis’ recovery from a right shoulder injury.

Callahan indicated that the team would give Levis an additional day of rest before he resumes his regular practice schedule on Wednesday, with expectations that he will be ready to participate fully.

Levis sustained the shoulder injury during the first quarter of last Monday night’s game against the Dolphins and did not return to play. Since then, he has undergone rehabilitation and made notable progress.

Callahan mentioned that Levis received treatment during the week and managed to take a short break over the weekend, which seems to have contributed positively to his recovery. The coach is optimistic about Levis’ condition as they approach the upcoming practice.

The Titans are set to face the Colts this Sunday at Nissan Stadium, and the anticipation is building around Levis’ potential return. Callahan emphasized that if Levis is capable of practicing effectively, he will likely take the field in the game.

However, he noted that if the shoulder injury significantly hampers Levis’ performance, they would have to reconsider his participation.

In his four starts this season, Levis has recorded 67 completions out of 98 attempts, totaling 604 yards, four touchdowns, and six interceptions, contributing to nine turnovers overall. Before his injury against Miami, he completed 3 of 4 passes for 25 yards but was unable to continue playing.

Backup quarterback Mason Rudolph stepped in, helping secure a 31-12 victory over the Dolphins with 85 passing yards.

While Callahan doesn’t anticipate Levis being completely pain-free following the injury, he stressed the importance of managing the discomfort. As long as Levis feels capable of fulfilling his role, he is expected to take the field. The coach’s confidence in Levis’ improvement sets a hopeful tone as the Titans prepare for their next matchup.
