South Carolina wide receiver Jared Brown, who was sidelined for the Akron game and had to leave early during the Ole Miss matchup, has been officially ruled out for this week’s game against Alabama.
The Crimson Tide are coming off of a brutal loss to Vanderbilt on the road this past weekend, so both teams are looking to get back into the win column
This information was provided in the SEC’s first availability report released on Wednesday night.
The report also confirms that offensive lineman Jakai Moore and defensive back Kelvin Hunter will remain unavailable for the upcoming game.
Additionally, senior defensive tackle Deandre Jules, who had to exit early in the Ole Miss game, and freshman defensive back Jalewis Solomon are both listed as “doubtful” for the matchup against the Crimson Tide.
This week’s availability report highlights the ongoing challenges South Carolina faces with player injuries as they prepare to take on a tough Alabama team. The two teams have only played one another twice since 2010 and the game in 2010 was when the Gamecocks pulled off the upset against Alabama by a final score of 35-21. South Carolina will be looking to do the same thing on Saturday, but according to the betting odds, the Gamecocks aren’t given much of a chance to do so.
