TEAM UPDATE: South Carolina’s Key Player Out For The Rest Of The Season

South Carolina’s wide receiver Jared Brown and defensive tackle DeAndre Jules will miss this Saturday’s game against Oklahoma, marking their second consecutive week out of action, as indicated in the SEC’s latest availability report released Wednesday night.

Right tackle Cason Henry, who left the game early against Alabama, is labeled as “probable.” Head coach Shane Beamer mentioned earlier in the week that both Henry and Jatavius Shivers would be competing for their positions, with Shivers having performed well in Henry’s absence.

They are now listed as co-starters on this week’s depth chart.

The report also confirms that reserve freshman defensive backs Jalewis Solomon and Kelvin Hunter are again ruled out, while reserve receiver Payton Mangrum is marked as questionable.

Jared Brown had been emerging as a key receiving option earlier in the season but suffered a lower-body injury during the first half against LSU.

After missing the Akron game, he returned for the Ole Miss matchup but had to leave early, missing the following game against Alabama.

Additionally, Beamer stated that veteran offensive lineman Jakai Moore is “doubtful” for the remainder of the season and is officially marked as “out” in the latest report. On the other side, Oklahoma’s top wide receiver Deion Burks is listed as “questionable.” Head coach Brent Venables expressed uncertainty about Burks’ availability, noting that he is trying to “defy all odds” to play against the Gamecocks.
