The Falcons (4-2) are aiming for their fourth consecutive victory this Sunday as they face the Seattle Seahawks (3-3) at 1 p.m. ET in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Seattle, having lost their last three games, will be highly motivated to turn their fortunes around. For Atlanta to extend their winning streak, they will need to maintain focus and play their best.
As they prepare for the game, the Falcons will be missing two key defensive starters. Linebacker Troy Andersen, recently named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Saints, will sit out for the third straight game due to a knee injury.
In his absence, Kaden Elliss, Nate Landman, and rookie JD Bertrand are expected to step up at inside linebacker. Landman, who returned last week against the Panthers, made a significant impact by forcing two fumbles.
Additionally, outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter has been placed in the concussion protocol and will not play this Sunday. His absence will likely lead to increased playing time for Arnold Ebiketie, who has recorded four quarterback hits and one tackle for a loss this season.
Ebiketie has been on the field for just over 41% of the team’s defensive snaps, while Carter has been closer to 50%.
Another injury of concern is that of starting safety Justin Simmons, who sustained a hamstring injury in the previous game against Carolina and has been limited in practice leading up to Sunday. Simmons’s presence is crucial against a formidable passing attack. If he cannot play,
Richie Grant is expected to step in alongside Jessie Bates III. Additionally, reserve cornerback Antonio Hamilton is listed as questionable due to a back injury, which could further challenge the Falcons’ depth in the secondary.
