BREAKING NEWS: Pittsburgh’s Cornerback Room Gets a Boost with Another Significant Signing

The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing cornerback C.J. Henderson from their practice squad to the active roster, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

This move comes in response to Donte Jackson aggravating an AC joint sprain during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. Henderson will add depth to an experienced cornerback group.

Jackson joined the Steelers recently after impressing during a tryout.

The former Florida standout was selected in the Top 10 of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars but spent only one season there before being traded to the Carolina Panthers.

His journey has since taken him through Jacksonville, Carolina, and Houston this summer.

In his first four seasons in the NFL, Henderson has recorded 172 tackles, two forced fumbles, and three interceptions. With Jackson sidelined, James Pierre stepped in as the only active outside cornerback during the game, and Henderson could potentially take on a starting role if Jackson is unable to play.

The Steelers are preparing to face the New York Giants on Monday Night Football this week, and Henderson’s addition may prove crucial as they navigate the challenges posed by their upcoming opponent.
