BREAKING NEWS: Baltimore Ravens Boost Offense with Another Star-Player Trade With Rivals

The Baltimore Ravens have bolstered their offense by trading for wide receiver Diontae Johnson from the Carolina Panthers.

In this deal, which was announced on Tuesday, the Ravens exchanged a fifth-round pick in 2025 for Johnson and a sixth-round pick in the same year. This acquisition is aimed at providing additional support for quarterback Lamar Jackson as the team pushes for success this season.

Diontae Johnson has been a standout for the Panthers since joining them in an offseason trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was swapped for cornerback Donte Jackson.

This season, Johnson recorded 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns but missed the Panthers’ recent 28-14 loss to the Denver Broncos due to a rib injury.

With Johnson approaching unrestricted free agency after this season, interest in him was high, with two other teams reportedly considering trades before the Ravens finalized their move.

The Panthers, currently focused on improving their draft position with a struggling 1-7 record, may explore further trade opportunities ahead of the November 5 deadline. While running back Miles Sanders could be on the trading block, his recent lack of production raises questions about his desirability.

However, players like quarterback Bryce Young, running back Chuba Hubbard, and cornerback Jaycee Horn are expected to remain with the team due to their potential and value to the organization.

Diontae Johnson joins a young receiving corps alongside second-year wide receiver Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, as well as several solid tight ends, giving Lamar Jackson more options in the passing game. Jackson is enjoying a career-best passing season, showcasing a 115.4 rating with 2,099 yards, 17 touchdowns, and only two interceptions.

Despite the addition of Johnson, the Ravens will need to address their defensive struggles, having allowed 401 yards in their recent loss to the Browns, as they aim to catch up with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the competitive AFC North.
