East Carolina has strengthened its 2025 recruiting class with the addition of Jordan Miles, a three-star linebacker from Huntsville (Ala.) Grissom High School. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Miles is rated 84 overall by 247Sports, ranking him as the 168th-best linebacker nationally and the 80th-best player in Alabama for the 2025 class.
Miles chose ECU over Arkansas State, which he also officially visited, along with Memphis and UAB. He had additional offers from Air Force, Army, Central Michigan, and Toledo. As a junior, Miles recorded 60 tackles, including six tackles for loss, two sacks, and two forced fumbles for a Grissom team that finished with a 2-8 record.
Miles’ commitment is the 20th for ECU’s 2025 recruiting class and the third projected to play linebacker. He was recruited by defensive coordinator Blake Harrell.
Miles joins fellow Georgia native Macklin Sanders, out of Ola High School, and Charlotte (N.C.) Palisades High School three-star Kendric Davis, as linebacker commitments for ECU’s 2025 class. All three are considered versatile defenders with the ability to potentially play multiple spots in Harrell’s position room. “Honestly in the multiple 3-4 defense that Coach Harrell runs I feel like it would be a great opportunity to be extremely productive,” Miles said of why he chose ECU. “Also how versatile I could be in the defense was a huge selling point for me.
“I’m a wild card player; with a 4.6 40 and a 4.3 shuttle, I can play boundary or field linebacker, as well as in the box. “We’ll see when I get to campus.”
Miles first arrived in town on March 23 for a Junior Day visit, and ECU extended an offer to him throughout the process. He quickly rose to the top of the Pirates’ recruiting list, and his formal visit to ECU occurred on June 20.
“I was impressed with how nice the campus was, I’ve been up there before on junior day but I didn’t remember it being as nice as it was,” Miles told the reporter. “I was blown away by the stadium, all I could think of was making a huge hit in front of 50,000 fans.”
Miles’ official visit was hosted by Julien Davis, a redshirt sophomore linebacker from Georgia. He met with and became close with several of the current players.
“The players make me feel really solid about my decision and the way that the program is headed,” Miles told ESPN. “You can tell that they’re all about each other.”
Miles is the first Alabama candidate to declare his commitment to ECU this cycle. Georgia leads the way with seven, three more than the following state (North Carolina has four). The Pirates have also received pledges from Florida (3) and South Carolina (2), as well as one each from Kentucky, Maryland, and Texas. ECU currently has pledges from eight different states.
According to 247Sports, ECU’s class is presently ranked 70th overall and second in the American Athletic Conference, after USF.
