Westside quarterback Cutter Woods, who has been committed to South Carolina since June, officially signed with the Gamecocks on Wednesday to play college football.
The 6’3″ quarterback led Westside to a state championship in his junior year, guiding the Rams to the Class AAAA title with a 14-1 record, marking the program’s first title since 1969.
Woods has the opportunity to lead the team back to the title game this season, with a crucial game coming up on Friday.
Woods was named one of five finalists for South Carolina’s Mr. Football Award and selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
In his junior season, he completed 220 of 317 passes (69.4%) for 3,915 yards, 42 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. He also ran for 345 yards and 5 touchdowns, averaging 6.8 yards per carry, and posted a 10-3 record at Westside.
