South Carolina added a familiar name from the transfer portal on Monday night.
Former NC State defensive back Brandon Cisse will continue his football career with the Gamecocks. South Carolina fans may recall Cisse from his recruitment out of Lakewood High School in Sumter as part of the 2023 class.
Cisse officially announced his commitment, which was also confirmed by South Carolina, making his signing with the program official.
Cisse is a valuable addition to the Gamecocks. He played a key role for NC State in 2024, recording 28 tackles, 5 pass deflections, and 2 tackles for loss. He is expected to make an immediate impact in South Carolina’s secondary next season.
With Cisse’s addition, South Carolina now has 13 transfers in this cycle and ranks 15th nationally according to 247Sports. Cisse is the second defensive back to join the Gamecocks’ transfer class as the team aims to strengthen its pass defense for 2025. Last season, South Carolina ranked 3rd in the SEC in pass defense efficiency.
