Williams Nwaneri, a highly touted five-star defensive end from Lee’s Summit North High School, committed to the Missouri Tigers in August 2023.
As the top-ranked defensive lineman in his class, his decision to stay in-state was a significant coup for Missouri’s recruiting efforts.
Nwaneri was selected to play in the 2024 Under Armour All-America Game, underscoring his status as a premier prospect.
During his freshman season at Missouri, Nwaneri appeared in four games, recording two tackles, including one for loss, and a sack.
Despite the Tigers’ defensive challenges, he did not consistently crack the rotation, which led to his decision to enter the transfer portal on December 10, 2024.
On December 12, 2024, reports indicated that Nwaneri had chosen to transfer to Nebraska, making his commitment official on December 13.

This move reunites him with his high school coach, Jamar Mozee, who is now a senior assistant at Nebraska.
Nwaneri has four years of eligibility remaining and is expected to make an immediate impact on the Cornhuskers’ defensive line.
