Over the weekend, one of the biggest recruiting classes of 2025 came to a close when four-star defensive lineman Kade Pietrzak pledged to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday.
Pietrzak, a top-200 recruit according to On3, was the best player in North Dakota and a key target for the Badgers along the defensive line heading into official visits.
He had visited Wisconsin during the first weekend of official visits, but it seemed the Badgers were trailing behind the Oklahoma Sooners, who were long considered favorites in his recruitment.
However, as Oklahoma’s recruitment slots filled up, Pietrzak shifted his focus to the Cornhuskers, ultimately committing to them on Sunday.
With Pietrzak off the board, the Badgers’ 2025 defensive line recruits currently include three-stars Wilnerson Telemaque and Torin Pettaway. There’s potential to add another player in the fall, similar to how they secured four-star Ernest Willor Jr. on signing day last year.
For now, a top target for the Badgers is heading elsewhere.
