Tyson Helton’s Western Kentucky Hilltoppers secured their first commitment for the 2026 class on Thursday, as quarterback Cam O’Hara from Union, Kentucky, announced his decision to join the team on X with the message, “1000% COMMITTED!”
O’Hara chose the Hilltoppers over offers from Kentucky, Akron, Bowling Green, Miami (OH), and various FCS programs. The 6’2″ quarterback earned a three-star rating from 247Sports and was ranked as the #7 prospect in Kentucky, as well as the top quarterback in the state’s 2026 class.
In his last season at Cooper High School, O’Hara threw for 3,617 yards, 52 touchdowns, and just three interceptions, showcasing his impressive skill set.
Helton’s Hilltoppers had a successful 2024 season, finishing with an 8-6 record and reaching a bowl game for the sixth consecutive year.
