The South Carolina Gamecocks have added a significant piece to their secondary by signing a transfer cornerback from Ball State. After considering offers from both South Carolina and Kentucky, the player chose to join the Gamecocks, committing to the program on Thursday, as first reported by Pete Nakos of On3.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 183 pounds, the cornerback had a strong 2024 season at Ball State, recording 38 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and five pass deflections. According to Pro Football Focus, he earned a solid coverage grade of 71.8 over 456 snaps in 12 games, primarily playing outside cornerback, with some snaps at the nickel position.

The player began his college career in track and field at Iowa Western Community College, before moving on to Iowa State, New Mexico State, and ultimately Ball State to be closer to his family. At Ball State, he quickly became a key contributor to the defense, and his decision to transfer to South Carolina presents a major opportunity to compete at a higher level in the SEC.
South Carolina will now benefit from his experience and skill, as he will add depth to their defensive backfield. This move strengthens the Gamecocks’ secondary, as they prepare to face some of the toughest offenses in college football next season.
