HUGE-BOOST: Giants Add Proven Linebacker To Strengthen Defensive Lineup

The New York Giants have strengthened their linebacker corps and special teams with a new signing, adding a veteran player with five years of NFL experience. This player has spent their entire career with one team, primarily serving as a depth linebacker while also contributing significantly on special teams.

Over the course of their career, they’ve appeared in 73 games, with seven starts on defense and 1,284 snaps played on special teams.

At 28 years old, this new addition is the second special teams-focused player the Giants have brought in this offseason. The team had already signed another special teams veteran, former Ravens linebacker Chris Board, to a two-year, $6 million deal.

Both players are expected to compete for backup roles behind the Giants’ starting linebackers, Bobby Okereke and Micah McFadden.

While this player has been solid when given opportunities to play defense, they have not yet locked down a full-time starting role. However, their primary value to the Giants will likely be as a special teams contributor, where they have consistently been a key part of the units they’ve played for. With both Flannigan-Fowles and Board on the roster, the Giants are bolstering their depth and looking to improve their special teams.

The Giants continue to make moves aimed at strengthening their overall roster, particularly in areas where depth and experience are crucial. With key contributors on both defense and special teams, this signing adds versatility and veteran leadership to a team that is preparing for a competitive season ahead.
