Texas Longhorns basketball to visit NC State Wolfpack for the ACC/SEC Challenge

Texas will travel to North Carolina State as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge, a sixteen-game series between the two conferences, during their first season in the SEC.

Head coach Rodney Terry is entering his second season as the Horns’ official head coach, and he hopes to improve on his success in 2023-24.

Last season, Texas ended with an overall record of 21-13 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s Second Round.

While the Longhorns were defeated in the Big Dance by the Tennessee Volunteers and former head coach Rick Barnes, Terry’s first season with the team offered hope for the future.

As Texas enters the SEC, it will face not only the Vols on a regular basis, but also some of the toughest teams in the country, including Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

NC State ended the 2023-24 season with an overall record of 26-15 and will try to improve in the 2024-25 season.

Kevin Keatts, the Wolfpack’s head coach, is entering his eighth season with the team and has an overall record of 139-94.

The Longhorns will face Ohio State on November 4 as part of the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas Opening Night. The remainder of their 2024-25 itinerary has yet to be formally published.
