South Carolina men’s basketball has added another important piece to its growing roster, with forward Elijah Strong committing to the Gamecocks.
As reported by John Whittle of 247Sports, Strong made his decision public on Sunday morning following an official visit to Columbia over the weekend. He becomes the fifth transfer to join South Carolina this offseason.
Standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 235 pounds, Strong averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game last season with Boston College. After spending two seasons with the Eagles, he still has two years of eligibility remaining.

Strong bolsters the Gamecocks’ frontcourt, joining Providence transfer Christ Essandoko as part of a revamped post presence. Head coach Lamont Paris and his staff have also added three guards and wings, forming a well-rounded and promising transfer class heading into next season.
