Breaking: Nashville Predators Confirmed The Blockbuster Signing Of Another Special Star

As reported by Nashville Predators reporter Michael Gallagher, the Predators have secured a two-year contract with Spencer Stastney through arbitration. The new deal will pay Stastney $825,000 in the 2024-25 season and $850,000 in the 2025-26 season.

Stastney spent the 2023-24 season with Nashville, where he recorded two goals and two assists, totaling four points in 20 regular-season games. He also appeared in three Stanley Cup Playoff games during the Predators’ first-round matchup against the Vancouver Canucks. In Game 3 against Vancouver, Stastney sustained an upper-body injury from a hard hit by Canucks forward Dakota Joshua, resulting in a five-minute major penalty.

The 24-year-old also played 44 games with the Predators’ AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, where he registered five goals and 15 assists for 20 points. Stastney participated in 10 Calder Cup playoff games with the Admirals but did not record any points. Over his career, he has accumulated six points in 28 NHL regular-season games and 33 points in 102 AHL games.

Originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft by Nashville, Stastney hails from Woodbridge, Illinois. Before his professional career, he spent four seasons at the University of Notre Dame, winning an NCAA B1G Championship in 2018-19. During his time with the Fighting Irish, Stastney amassed 16 goals and 47 assists for 63 points in 143 games.

Internationally, Stastney has represented the USA multiple times, including at the Under-17 World Hockey Championships, Under-18 Men’s World Championships, and the World Juniors. He won a silver medal with the USA at the U18s on a team that featured Jack Hughes, Joel Farabee, Cole Caufield, and K’Andre Miller, among others.
