MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mittie continues to strengthen the 2025-26 roster with the addition of standout freshman Brandie Harrod.
Hailing from Oklahoma City, Harrod is a four-star recruit who holds national rankings across multiple outlets. ESPNHoopGurlz places her at No. 59 overall, while ProspectsNation.com ranks her 38th nationally. According to 247Sports, she’s the No. 42 player in the country and the seventh-best prospect in Oklahoma.
At Putnam City North High School, Harrod posted impressive stats throughout her career, averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 assists, 9.0 rebounds, and 1 block per game. In her senior year, she played a key role in leading the Panthers to their first-ever girls’ basketball state championship, averaging 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 assists per game during that title run.
K-State wrapped up an impressive 2024-25 season, securing their 19th NCAA Tournament appearance and advancing to the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in program history. With 28 wins, the Wildcats recorded the second-highest single-season total and tied for the second-most victories across a two-year span (54). They were consistently ranked in both the AP and Coaches polls throughout the year.
The team also shattered school records for total points (2,842), assists (763), and blocks (206), and led the Big 12 in several categories including scoring offense, shooting efficiency, and assist-to-turnover ratio.
