Breaking: Kraken coach Bylsma’s Announces Commitment For Top Talented Player

If there’s anything notable about the new Seattle Kraken head coach, Dan Bylsma, it’s his background. Bylsma recently transitioned from coaching the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Kraken’s AHL affiliate, where he led the team to consecutive AHL Western Conference championships and Calder Cup Finals.

One of the standout players during his tenure was Shane Wright, a center picked 4th overall by the Kraken in the 2022 NHL Draft, who is seen as a cornerstone of Seattle’s future. Bylsma, having coached Wright before his promotion to head coach, has unique insight into Wright’s development. Speaking on Seattle Sports’ Bump and Stacy, Bylsma emphasized the challenge of high expectations for an 18-year-old making his NHL debut, highlighting the ongoing development required at that age.

Reflecting on Wright’s growth, Bylsma acknowledged the importance of veteran leadership during Wright’s time both in Seattle and with Coachella Valley. He commended Wright’s daily commitment and progress, noting that Wright’s performance during his brief return to the Kraken this past April showed promising signs of maturation as both a player and a person.
